Introduction to Swordash
Swordash follows the battle journey of a young girl with the body of a high school girl. Join her as she fights the mutants that are spreading around the world.
After years of peace and green, people and things coexist peacefully. Suddenly one day, a strange, unidentified black substance suddenly appears in the sky. Wherever this black substance went, it caused humans to mutate into a ferocious mob of people who mutated in various ways.
Only a fortunate few were unaffected by the dark matter, and they are the survivors, now gathered together in resistance groups in many parts of the planet. Just when everyone is confused and the resistance groups are weak and isolated, a mysterious girl in a girl’s school uniform appears. That mysterious girl will be the leader of this great war, helping to bring the survivor groups together and helping the world decipher the strange mutations mentioned above.
Features of Swordash
Smooth animation design
Firstly, let’s talk about the huge benefits of the animations. Although it’s only a small game and doesn’t take up much space, character animations are smooth and rare in Swordash. Every battle and every swing of the sword also has vivid lighting and sound effects. The controls in the game are simple, responsive, and perfectly suited to the character’s gestures, making the avatars more meaningful and active than ever.
Gameplay
Swordash is an action role-playing game in which the player takes on the role of a schoolgirl at war with rampant mutants around the world.
Using only minimalist 2.5D graphics, even the details on the protagonist’s face are unclear. Backgrounds are simple, with only a coloured backdrop that highlights the character’s rapier and the mutants’ madness. However, Swordash is very successful in creating a fairly consistent role-playing zombie game that keeps the player hooked.
When you need your character to perform an attack, you’ll repeatedly touch the middle part of the right side of the screen, and the bottom will slide and unleash the final blow to destroy the enemy. The logic of the attack is to approach a mutant, attack repeatedly until it’s stunned, and then land a final blow to knock it out for good. The surf button is limited, as each surf consumes energy and requires waiting a certain amount of recovery time. Meanwhile, the attack button will be able to be used continuously with no timeout to help you fight mutants without interruption.
Battles and upgrades
Mutants can appear one by one or in waves. Each time you clear an attack, a mini-missile will drop in front of you, giving you the option to add 1 of 3 random skills.
Random possibilities can be selected multiple times. When you select a skill twice, it will be upgraded, becoming stronger and more influential.
Fighting mutants will also give you a considerable amount of gold. The collected gold can be used to equip more weapons, which are new swords with higher destructive power and damage. Alternatively, new equipment or increased experience points are provided depending on the player’s choices each time. Note that each type of equipment and weapon can also be enhanced by adding stones. This way you can create many different combinations of weapons, equipment and fighting styles.
Enemy quality
The longer the mutants live, the more intelligent they become. At first, you only have to deal with inanimate bodies such as zombies. But in the next levels, you’ll find that they’re more cunning, move faster, and can react and respond to your attacks. Sometimes, they will even actively hide, running in the other direction after recognising your presence.
Overall, the enemies in Swordash are not easy to deal with. You also have to be mentally prepared for the most intense wave of mutations at the end. What stands in the way at the end of the stage is always a powerful boss, forcing you to fight to the bitter end in order to have any hope of winning. When you pass a level, your character gains experience points based on a summary of how well he or she performed in that stage, and thus levels up. The higher the level, the higher the mobility, weapon use and resistance.
